While we are touring Singapore on our third day of vacation, we decided to have lunch before heading to Orchard Road and one of the first malls we have gone into as we alight at the Orchard Road Station of the MRT is Wisma Atria Shopping Centre and there, we looked for a food court where we found Sergeant Hainanese Chicken Rice and decided to have lunch there.
Since we're all fond of eating Chicken Rice on our stay in Singapore, we all agreed to have lunch on this place. Sergeant Hainanese Chicken Rice is located at the far end of the Food Republic of Wisma Atria Mall.Their stall is quite big and you can see the chicken that they served being hanged on display behind a thick glass. Basically, you can see them prepare your food upon ordering.
The price ranges from SGD3.50 - SGD6.50 set meals. It is reasonable enough since they have a lot of serving and the food tasted good too. They have two kinds of chicken there, one is roasted and the other is the steamed one. Both are flavorful and both are really good with the rice. Also, the dipping they provide was so good. It is the basic ginger and soy sauce mix we usually have with a chicken rice. It was just basic but we really love the flavor of it on the chicken.The chicken itself is tender and the juices are sealed inside. How it was prepared was nice as well as how it was presented, on a bed of cucumbers. It is appetizing to look and each bite will make you want to have more.
Overall, the flavor of the chicken is good. Paired with the fragrant Hainanese rice, it is better. We all loved it especially with the dipping sauce. it was just a bit pricey for us but it was all good since we don't have much choice on their menu. It was quite limited and most of the items, we are not familiar. It is a good place to go whenever you are in Wisma Atria Mall in Orchard Road. You should try it out.
