Sugarfree and Sandwich at 19 East

Kat invited me to go to one of Sugarfree's final gigs at 19 East last February 24, 2011. Together with Archie, Ate Joy and Adrian, the five of us went to 19 East to watch Sandwich and Sugarfree.

Movie Nights: 127 Hours

I watched 127 Hours a week ago and realized that the story was familiar to me. I heard about the movie first with my hiking friends when they talked about it when we are resting. When they told me the plot of the story, I didn't realize that I know it way before it was made into a movie.

Watching it made me pause and search the web and soon I remembered where I read about this story, Oddee.com. It was when I was doing nothing at my old office that I read about the story of Aron Ralston, a mountaineer who survived for 5 days stuck in the mountains and survived by amputating his own arm just to get free. The first time I hared the movie, I thought that he was just stuck in a mountain and some rescuers helped him get out after 127 hours but as soon as I realized the familiar story, I knew what really will happen to the movie.

Recalling My Camp Suki Adventure

I received an email form Wordpress a month ago about my old blog's status. I was impressed that the trending post was from my entry regarding my adventure at Camp Suki Clothier about 2 years ago. Each day I checked on my blog status back then, a search or view from that article is always on my top list. It was funny, though, that people who visit it always mistaken me as the owner of the place. The entry only tell our adventure going there because it was really quite an adventure in an unknown place.

Most Popular post is the Camp Suki Entry

Lunch with College Batchmates at Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes

I was invited by Tanja for a Lunch out at Ayala Triangle Garden together with Abet and Amor since they will be coming from their office in Taguig there for lunch. We met at Makati Stock Exchange and went to ATG to reserve some seats at Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes.

Banapple's space at ATG is small and could fit only a few people inside that is why there are also tables outside the store. You need to ask the waitress to be wait listed especially during lunch and dinner hours since there are a lot of people going there. Fortunately, we are number 2 in the list so we just waited a little to be seated. the first time I was here we're about number 10 above in the list and there are a lot of people around because of the musical Christmas lights presentation during the holidays. >_< Their interior is quite crowded since people need to fall in line at the counter for their orders. Also, there are a lot of cakes and bread around mixed with the tables and guests coming in and out.

Central BBQ Boy Shots

A couple of weeks ago, Ate Neysa arrived for her two months vacation from work. We decided to celebrate and since I saw that Central BBQ Boy Muntinlupa was once again opened, we went there after work. It was a night of food and drinks for us. Mostly food but we still had a few drinks that night.

Central BBQ Boy is famous for its affordable and yummy pulutan. They serve the classic pulutan of the pinoys such as isaw, barbecue, tenga and the likes. They also serve some other pulutan that really pairs good with beer and other cocktail drinks. Speaking of cocktail drinks, they have the best original cocktail mix in town! This is where you will find the famous Bad Boy, Bad Girl and Bad Trip mix. These drinks are like juice but beware for it will make you drunk if you don't stop taking shots.

Dinner at Meister's

I saw pictures on my phone when I was getting bored here in the office. I remembered one which I took and decided to blog about but wasn't able because I can't remember why lolz. So to make up for it, I am going to blog about it now.

When Millet and I had a girl date (when we bought our Havaianas) we decided to have dinner before going home. She suggested something at Glorietta Food Choices and since I don't have any cravings then, I agreed.

Bursting Tires and Armed Escorts

I have an adventure to tell that just happened a while ago as I was on my way home.

After our dinner date, Kat and I went home riding a bus going to Alabang. As the bus was cruising Skyway, the tires suddenly burst and so all the passengers went down in hopes of another bus stopping by there. Two buses came to our aid but they were already full so most of us stayed and waited. As we are waiting there, a vehicle stopped at us. At first we thought it was the Skyway Patrol but when the man in uniform talked to us from the window, I knew that they are from the AFP. They are offering us free ride going to Bicutan. At first Kat and I were hesitant because she said that there are no loading zones there but since two other guys boarded the vehicle, we said, what the hell! It's a free ride!

Side Trip at Kalayaan Twin Falls

After our climb at Mt. Humarap and Matabungka Falls, we decided to have lunch at Kalayaan Twin Falls. This falls is located at Kalayaan, Laguna near Paete.

We took a jeepney going there for P9 each. The jeepney driver dropped us at the road going there. We walked it and soon found the entrance to the falls. Originally a P40 fee is charged for visitors but since we haggled, they only let us pay P30 each.

Tatlong Krus at Mt. Humarap and Matabungka Falls Day Hike

We were invited once again for a day hike in Laguna. This time, it is in Paete, the town famous of the beautiful woodcraft. The hike was originally scheduled somewhere else but they realized that it was impossible to do it in a day so they changed the itinerary to Mt. Humarap.

As usual, the meeting place is at Buendia and at 5am in the morning, the adventurers were there. Our group was pretty large, consisting of 14 people, most are couples. Some of them I've been with from the previous climb and some, the first time to be with.

Happy Singles' Awareness Day

It's February 14 today. I was supposed to post early this morning but I haven't done the draft last night since I was so tired I slept early. Anyway, It is still Feb 14 and here is my post for Valentine's Day.

A lot of us is celebrating Valentine's this day. Most with their special someone, some with their loved ones, some with their friends, and some alone like any ordinary day. Well, Valentine's day is just a marketing strategy for me. So that people would buy gifts and stuff for their loved ones. It will boost the economy in some way that is why it is introduced. However, not all people celebrate this with their special someone. Most are single and are dying to experience the magic of this day with somebody special. Yes, I experienced it once upon a time. Even if all the February that I had in the dating days of my life are all with heartbreaks and moving on.
This is how I picture my heart, all battered but still hanging there.

Sugarfree Night at Saguijo

For those of you who still don't know, Sugarfree will disband this March and they have a series of last gigs all over February. One of this was last February 10, 2011 at Saguijo Bar in Makati. Tanja and the rest of my college batchmates invited me there to watch one of their last gigs with Ebe (the band's lead vocalist).

I first knew about Sugarfree back in college when they went to UPLB Math building for MTV's Homecomming. It featured Ebe's High School which is UP Rural High School. Since the present Math Building in UPLB is the former UPRHS, he went there and that time, I was also there for a class. I didn't know them so I didn't care. It was only when Kat told me about it and I got curious and watched the episode that was shot there. That was the first time I heard them and I liked their music instantly. They became one of my most listened to during my college days.

Reading Corner: The Alchemist

After a long while, I finished reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I bought it last time I was waiting for Elouise and Ryan to fetch me at Alabang and I have nothing to do. I was choosing between Kiko Machine and this book and guess who won?

This book was originally written in Portuguese since the author was Brazilian. I Googled some facts about it and discovered that it holds the Guinness record for most translated book by a living author.

Kopi Bun at Kopi Roti

Before we go home last Friday, we went to Kopi Roti for some take out. I always loved their Kopi Bun ever since Buboy brought us some when I was still with my SDK family.

Their small restaurant is beside the other restaurants in the top floor. They sell coffee, tea and other pastries. They also sell some rice dishes there that I think are Asian cuisines. You can watch at the counter how they prepare the drinks and it was cool to watch.

Sweet Night at Crepes & Cream

We reserved some room for dessert after our dinner at Krazy Garlik. We planned to have some crepes at Crepes & Cream since we all crave for some crepe.

After we played at the casino, we all went back to the restaurants area to Crepes & Cream for some sweet dessert.

Their place is just small just above Crazy Garlik. They have a few tables and chairs for guests since you can have these treats for take out.

This is the first time I am ordering a sweet crepe here. Other times, I usually order their savory crepes and experiment on what to place inside.

Dinner at Krazy Garlik

My Friday night gimik for this week is with my longest and oldest friends. It is very rare for us to go out, usually when Ate Neysa is around that we get to bond like this. This time, we tried out Resorts World for a night of fun and enjoyment.

I was still dizzy with last night's gimik event but this will not stop me to bond with my Kalye Friends. And so after work, we met up at Ayala Makati and they fetched me there (because I am late). We headed to Resorts World in Pasay so we can explore the place. Our initial plan is to eat, relax and enjoy. And so we did.

When we got to Resorts World, we first looked for a place to have dinner. We went around the mall and looked for a nice place to dine. We saw Gian Magdangal in one of the restaurants and so we were tempted to dine there but as soon as we saw Krazy Garlik, we decided to dine there instead. Fortunately though, Gian transferred to Starbucks which is just beside Krazy Garlik and so, we still get to see him lolz.

Gelato Cakes at Caramia Gelateria

It was Sir Lester's birthday last February 1 and all of his team was invited for a lunch out. Since I was part of MasterCard Team, I was invited too, so off we go to Amici at Ayala Triangle Garden.

Amici's place at ATG was big because together with it was Caramia Gelateria, a gelato place where they sell different kinds of gelato. We ate lunch at Amici and planned to have dessert at Caramia.

Down with the Sickness

This post has nothing to do with the song but I can't think of anything to call this.

I haven't been blogging for the past few days because I am sick. I had a terrible headache last weekend (which is not connected to this but still made me feel weak) and slight fever (I feel feverish and my body is aching, not sure if I really have a fever). The worse part is, I am coughing bad last Sunday which makes it hard for me to sleep. T_T

I've been on medicine since then and I am always feeling groggy. My head is spinning sometimes and I am not getting any better. Sleeping is very difficult since every move that wakens me slightly makes me cough hard and not be able to get back to sleep fast.
