Lunch with College Batchmates at Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes

I was invited by Tanja for a Lunch out at Ayala Triangle Garden together with Abet and Amor since they will be coming from their office in Taguig there for lunch. We met at Makati Stock Exchange and went to ATG to reserve some seats at Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes.

Banapple's space at ATG is small and could fit only a few people inside that is why there are also tables outside the store. You need to ask the waitress to be wait listed especially during lunch and dinner hours since there are a lot of people going there. Fortunately, we are number 2 in the list so we just waited a little to be seated. the first time I was here we're about number 10 above in the list and there are a lot of people around because of the musical Christmas lights presentation during the holidays. >_< Their interior is quite crowded since people need to fall in line at the counter for their orders. Also, there are a lot of cakes and bread around mixed with the tables and guests coming in and out.

The dishes they serve is not limited only to cakes and pies. They also serve rice meals that is why guests go  here during lunch and dinner. We ordered Hickory Smoked Barbecued Country Ribs, Salpicao Rafael, Baked Fish Gratinee with Scalloped Potatoes and Breaded Fillet of Cream Dory with Honey Thyme Mustard Sauce. We also ordered Banoffee Pie and Apple Caramel Crumble Pie for dessert.

Salpicao Rafael (P180)

Breaded Fillet of Cream Dory with Honey Thyme Mustard Sauce (P175)

Hickory Smoked Barbecued Country Ribs (P175)

Baked Fish Gratinee with Scalloped Potatoes (P175)

Banoffee Pie (P85/slice)

Apple Caramel Crumble Pie (P90/slice)
I ordered the Breaded Fillet of Cream Dory with Honey Thyme Mustard Sauce and I loved it. The Honey Mustard sauce was really good with the fish that was crunch at the crust and soft in the inside. It is best paired with the veggies on side. I could it it without the rice but the rice adds an additional flavor to it. It was really a yummy dish that I am sure I will crave soon.

I didn't get to taste the other dishes but I think they are all equally yummy. The barbecue ribs is also good since I tasted it before. It is recommended for those who loves meat.

As with the cake slices, The Banoffee Pie consist of a layer of banana and caramel topped with cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce and shavings. It was really heaven! I loved this cake since the combination of the banana and the caramel on top is really good. It balances the taste well, not too sweet, just right. The Apple Caramel Crumble on the other hand is a warm pie with caramelized apples and drizzled with chocolate sauce on top. The apple has a hint of cinnamon that was really good. However, I didn't like that it was quite sour but still it was good. It was just like an apple pie as all have commented. It is still a must try for those who loves apple pie.

The meal was filling and the price was just fine since the servings is quite big. The pies are their specialty that is why I think it was quite pricey for a slice but since it was yummy, it was still okay. Overall, this place is good and I recommend everyone in the Makati area to try it. Just don't go there when it is lunch or dinner time. I suggest they put on more seats there or expand the place.

For me, eating there twice is enough. But given another chance, why not, The food is yummy, the place is comfy. So, next time you get to pass by Ayala Triangle Garden, try this place out!

Hi! thanks for reading! :) I also love Banapple! Thankfully they have a branch now in Ayala so I won't have to go all the way to QC just to eat Banoffee Pie.. ^__^
