Food Trippin' Daet: KSarap

When we were in Daet, we had lunch in some local restaurant there that serves really yummy food in a very affordable price. The place is called KSarap.

Located at 2-025 Vinzons Avenue Daet, Camarines Norte. It is just along the road and it has a really big sign so you won't miss it. Also, this place is quite popular to the locals so, you just ask anyone and I am sure, they will gladly point it out to you.

Upon entering, the place is quite big. You can chose where to dine, weather it be on the elevated all wood area or on the larger area at the back. The tables in the wooden area are nice but with larger group, I recommend you take the extended area at the back. The place is well decorated and it looked cozy in there, perfect fro group gatherings with friends. Also, it seems really nice looking at night when the lights are up. The menu featured the pretty lights of the place at night and I could just imagine how nice it looked.

We settled on a long table at the back. There are only a few guests at that time since it was already late lunch time. As we get comfortable on our seat, we looked at the menu and was overwhelmed with the lots of dishes this place has to offer.

In the end, we ordered Sizzling Sisig, Kare Kare, Calamares and Fish Fillet with Sweet and Sour Sauce. For dessert, we ordered the Tiramisu Sherbet, Mango Sherbet and Chicken Macaroni Fruit Salad.

Calamares (PHP180)

The Calamares was served with a dipping sauce made of soy sauce. I am not sure of the other mix in it but paired with the crispy outside and tender squid meat inside, it was a perfect match. The dip was so good paired with the dish. I liked this one very much.

Fish Fillet in Sweet and Sour Sauce (PHP185)

The Fish Fillet with Sweet and Sour Sauce is also good. The sweet and sour sauce sticks well to the tongue leaving a spicy flavor in it. The fish meat is well marinated in the sauce that it tasted of the spices it has. It was also good especially with the vegetables in it.

Kare Kare (PHP130)

The Kare Kare was also a winner here. The thick peanut sauce and the yummy vegetable and meat in it goes well with the fish paste served with it. Classic Kare Kare can never go wrong!

Sizzling Sisig (PHP160)

The Sizzling Sisig is one of my favorites. The crispy meat in the hot plate topped with mayonnaise was really good. It has a thick sauce and a crispy meat in every bite. It was just good. Paired with rice or beer, this dish is a winner. One of the best sisigs I tasted!

Tiramisu Sherbet (PHP45)

For dessert I had Tiramisu Sherbet which is new in their menu. The serving was good enough for two to three people. We were surprised about it and didn't know and so we ordered it individually. The yummy cold sherbet was like a chocolate drink frozen in the freezer. It is topped with soft chewy bread pieces and some chocolates. It was really good dish to clean the pallet but it was too  much sweetness for one person to finish, so share! :)

Mango Sherbet (PHP45)

The Mango Sherbet was also good. I get to have a bite of it and it was really good with bits of mangoes in it.

Chicken Macarono Fruit Salad (half PHP45)

The Chicken Macaroni Fruit Salad was something we didn't like much. It was like a macaroni salad and fruit salad combined. We were not used to it so we weren't a fan of it. However the taste was good and acceptable. It was just that we're not used of the combination of it.

All in all, the food here is really good. I can say it was a winner and would recommend this place to anyone. Plus, they have an informative website and it looks really nice. The food is really good plus the price is very affordable. Perfect for group gathering and bonding. The place is nice and the staff is accommodating. I like it here. I'll be back next time I visit Daet!
