When we were on our way to Molito, we passed by a small store in Casa Susana Building located just infront of the Molito Complex. I have never took notice of the place until then, when I saw the sign on a small shop of Mochiko.
Mochiko is popular for their yummy balls of frozen mochi dessert that has a lot of flavors to choose from. They are usually found in small stalls selling these frozen treats in small pouches. They have a lot branches now in different parts of the metro so you can enjoy them wherever you are.
The store in Casa Susana Building is just small but has a few tables and chairs for guests to have a rest or eat the mochi there. They have a small freezer where all the goods are stored. Upon ordering, you are served with the frozen mochi right out of the freezer. You need to thaw it for a while and when it is a bit soft when pressed, you can have a bite of it already.
They had the Milk Tea Flavor. It was served to me frozen so I waited for it to thaw because you can't really bite into it frozen solid. After a while, I get to taste it and it was really good. The dough was the right sweetness and the texture is chewy. It is covered with powdered flour (I think) and be sure to wipe your mouth every bite because it sticks to your face. As you reach the frozen center, a ball of iced milk tea flavor will fill your mouth. It has a taste of tea and it was really good. It blends well with the chewy rice cake covering. My friend Had the Coffee Flavor one and it too looked good. I'll try that one next time.
It was really good and I think I'll be addicted to it. Though it is quite pricey for a small dough of mochi, it is nice to have once in a while. It is a nice snack for those who are looking for something yummy and cold.
