For a long time, My mom has always told me stories of how the fast food at their time serves large burgers as compared to the shrinking quality of beef patties in the burgers that fast food chains today. She always gives Dayrit's Burger and Roast Beef House as to having a really big serving of the burger. A few years back, I learned that Dayrit's still exist today and is located at the Paseo de Magallanes and since then, I was planning to go there to eat.
When we went on a road trip at Clark, we decided to drop by there for dinner and I was excited at the same time very hungry to try out the burgers they serve. They have a small place but I think it can hold about fifty people. There are a few people dining but most of the guest came in as dinner time approaches. The area is lit a bit dimly and across the door is the counter and a kitchen behind where most of the orders come from. Each table is well prepared and waiters gives you the menu upon seating and then takes your order. They are friendly and accommodating to us, maybe because there are only a few guests, but never the less, still nice.
Their menu has a variety of dishes to choose from. They have the classic Filipino Dishes which can be enjoyed for share and there are also rice meal with the Filipino classic meals. There are also sandwiches which is the one I am eyeing because of the stories of their burger from my Mom. In the end we ended up ordering a Cheeseburger Todo and a Roast Beef Sandwich Con Todo which is the one that I had.
It was true what my Mom said, their burgers are really big compared to the usual we have on burger joints. The patty is thick and it has a lot of vegetables that goes with it. It is quite impossible to eat it at once without all the stuff inside it falling on the plate. It was messy but it was a yummy experience.
The Cheeseburger Todo was yummy. The patty is thick and juicy. It is well seasoned and goes very well with all the stuffing inside. The Roast Beef Sandwich Con Todo was equally yummy. The only difference is that the Roast Beef is shredded beef which is more messy when eaten since the meat easily falls, sort of like the dishes served in Turkey. However, everything is all yummy and is a winner for me.
The food here is good and I am sure the other dishes they serve are also good. They also have some stuff sold at the counter mainly for pasalubong or for home consumption. I didn't get to see what were those but a lot of people who goes there only buys those stuff. I guess those were good. Service is also good here. It took a little waiting time for our orders to arrive, plus staff is accommodating as we usually ask for house water and they always attend to us promptly. This is one of the places I would highly recommend. Try them out, they are found at:
