Lunch Out Series: Mexicali

It was so long ago when I had a lunch out, and since this day seems a nice day to dine out, we decided to go to RCBC Plaza and look for food there. Our feet brought us at Mexicali for our lunch that day.

Mexicali is located at the 3rd Floor of the RCBC Plaza. It is among the array of many restaurants there and at lunch time, the place sure gets crowded. They offer Mexican food and there are a lot to choose from. Price range are from budget meals to affordable to-share with your party.

The place is just small and their seating extends to the hallways outside. They have a large counter and kitchen and some seats inside. The place is decorated with a lot of Mexican stuff and you will surely feel that you are in a Mexican restaurant just by the decors in the place. During lunch hour, the place gets really crowded and you will have difficulty looking for a place. It is better to go there a few minutes past lunch and surely, you can find a place to seat there.

We ordered Ground Beef Enchiladas with chips on the side, Chicken Enchiladas with rice and Roast Pork Quezadillas. My friend ordered a Agua Fresca.

The drink came first and their Agua Fresca is surely good. It is a fresh fruit shake with the fruit of your choice. My friend had Mango and it surely is good and refreshing.

The Roast Pork Quezadillas was also good. It was the second to arrive and the dish was really big. The cheese and meat is covered in the toasted tortillas and it goes wit a good garlic dip. I would love to have that especially if I visualize the melted cheese that ooze out of every slice.

The Chicken Enchiladas can be ordered with rice or with chips. Their rice looks good and also tastes good. They have a salad on the side with the rice and the chicken enchilada itself tasted good.

I had the Ground Beef Enchiladas with chips on the side. It has a salsa as the chip dip and it goes well with the beef enchiladas. The only thing I didn't quite like was the oils from the beef which was all over the plate, however, the enchilada itself was good. It has a generous amount of beef and the wrap was just right with it. I was fearing that it might have a lot of excess wrap that it occupies most of the supposedly beef space, but the dish is full of beef and was good and filling. I liked it with the chips.

The food there were really filling and surely, when you eat out, you will not want to eat anymore. The food is yummy and filling, as what is expected for a Mexican dish. It was also affordable and I would surely go back there to taste their other dishes on the menu. The only drawback in this branch is that the food takes time to arrive and you will be very hungry when it comes. I just wish they could improve on this. Overall, it was good eating here again.
