Sabi sa census may 11 milyon na tao sa Metro Manila. Pano mo malalaman na nahanap mo na yung taong para sayo? Maaring nakita mo na siya pero yumuko ka para magsintas. Maaring nakatabi mo na siya pero lumingon ka para tingnan ang traffic lights. Maaring nakasalubong mo na siya pero humarang yung pedicab.
May mga maswerteng tao na nahanap na yung taong para sakanila. May mga taong patuloy na naghahanap at may iba na sumuko na. Pero yung pinakamasaklap, e yung na sayo na pinakawalan mo pa.
My Amnesia Girl is getting a lot of reviews since it was shown. I wanted to watch it in cinema however, no one invited me to T_T. Now is my time, it is not yet late to appreciate this movie.
**spoiler alert for those who haven't watched it yet!**
The story is about Irene (Toni) and Apollo (John Lloyd) who met at a speed dating event. Irene is the photogapher in the event while Apollo is a participant. He approached her and gave her some hard core pickup lines in which Irene responded with her own pick up lines. They eventually became a couple and soon Apollo asked her to marry him. On their wedding day, Apollo left Irene at the altar. The two never met again until an incident in a grocery store. Apollo spotted Irene and as he approached her, Irene didn't recognize her. They were all baffled with what happened and didn't want to believe that she has Amnesia. In the end, they were all convinced of Irene's act.
What they didn't know is that Irene is just faking the Amnesia thing just to avoid the hurt and pain of seeing Apollo again.
Apollo on the other hand didn't tell her that he was Apollo but Pol so that she will not be angry with him. He, again fell in love with her and her to him. He wanted to bring back all the memory she lost for 27 years. In the process, Irene got guilty and wanted to tell him that she didn't have amnesia and Apollo wanted to tell her that it was him who left her at the altar.
In the end, they both discovered what they are hiding from each other after Apollo re-enacted their first encounter at the speed dating event. They were both hurt with what they've learned but soon realized that it was their second chance and they both didn't want to miss this chance. As they were going to see each other, Apollo had an accident and resulted in an amnesia. Irene was sad but eventually, their friends and her helped him regain his memory. The movie ended with a lot of pickup lines from Irene and Apollo.

“Ang true love ay para sa matatapang na tao lamang.”
“Sana pabango ka na lang para lagi kitang suot.”
“Apollo: Nasan ka kagabi?
Irene: Nandito lang ako ah!
Apollo: Kaya pala wala ka sa panaginip ko”
“Kuto ka ba? kasi lagi kang nasa ulo ko.”
“Apollo: Lumiliit ka ata ?.
Irene: Huh?
Apollo: Kasi dati nasa isip lang kita, ngayon nasa puso na kita!”
“Kung ikakasal ka saan mo gusto? Ako kasi sa tabi mo.”
“Alam mo, para kang tae… Hindi kasi kita kayang paglaruan.”
“Ihi ka ba? …Hindi kasi kita matiis eh.”
“Para kang alak… ang lakas ng tama mo sa akin.”
"Apollo: Bakit ba hinahanap ang isang tao?
Peachy: Kasi gusto mo siya?
Apollo: Hindi, kasi nawawala.
Irene: Bakit? Nawawala ba ‘ko?
Apollo: Hindi, pero hindi ka kasi mawala sa isip ko eh."
"Apollo: Bakit mo ba hinihintay ang isang tao?
Irene: Kasi takas sa bilibid?
Apollo: Hindi, kasi gusto mo siya."

Apollo: Sana pirated CD ka nalang para paulit-ulit mong sabihin ‘yan.

"Apollo: Magdala ka ng salbabida.
Irene: Bakit? Maliligo ba tayo?
Apollo: Hindi, baka malunod ka sa pagmamahal ko."
"Irene: Sino ako?
Apollo: Ikaw si Irene ko. Ikaw ang mapapangasawa ko. Photographer ka.
Irene: Mali. Pulis ako. Ikaw kasi ang most wanted ko."
"Irene: Alam mo bang pwede kitang kasuhan ng tesspassing?
Apollo: bakit?
Irene: kasi bigla bigla ka nalang pumapasok sa isip ko eh!"

It was a nice film, light, funny a bit of drama and scenes people can relate to. I like the part when they repeated the first lines in the film and this time, Apollo realized that he has a second chance and almost missed it. Speaking of second chances, the time I was writing this (on my phone while waiting for Kat), I was listening to Boys Night Out at Magic 89.9. They are also talking about second chances. Well I guess this day is "second chance" day. It seems like everything is in the same theme this day. Haha! But that is just me. (So Kat, listen to me when I'm giving advice, all signs point to second chances, be thankful you had one :P)
I think these second chances are what most people neglet to see and are too afraid to even grab the chance. Why not take the chance? As a friend of mine once said, "We only got one shot in life!", second chances are rare opportunities, the more we should grab this shot! who knows? Maybe it's destiny saying that the one who got away is the one that should stay.
